Form submit from frame?

Is there any way using php script (or maybe javascript) to submit a form by clicking a link or button in a different frame?

what do you mean?

you fill out a form in one frame, and press the submit button in the other frame?

it probably can be done in javascript, not sure how to do it tho.

Yes, I'm trying to have the form fields on the main frame (because there could be a long list of checkboxed items) and the submit, via a text link, on the left frame. I believe it can be done via CGI, but I've never worked with that and would prefer a javascript solution.

Did you get any resolution? I'm stuck with the same problem and my javascript book does not even talk about the form.submit() function...

No, my design no longer requires use of frames. I still don't know how to do what I asked. A good place to get Javascript answers is at the forum at http://forums.internet.com/WebX?14@^{3027@.ee6b313}
