First what my problem is not;
It is not with FORM, or to get and work with the file on my server.
My problem is as follows; the company I work for is based on people uploading LARGE image files.
As far as I now, due to sequrity issues I dont have any information about the submited files before they are submited. (If I have please tell me!)
When does the server have that information. Is the browser (IE, Netscape...) just sending ALL of it to the server without any negotiation, or is there a negotiation on the transfer.
If so is there any way for my (and my script..) to catch this negotiation, get information on it and perhaps give the user some feedback on whats going on...
I am currently using the Apache/php combination.
It can't be a sequrity issue for the server to obtain information on a ongoing transfer, so please tell me that it is implemented 😉
Is there any other Web Servers, script languages that have this option. (Think I saw something about it i connection with Cold Fusion)
And last; my motivation; If a file is to large it is still uploaded... It is a problem, both for me as a admin, and more important for the user that waits a long time just to be told that the file is to large...
