strange mail() behaviour

I have a very odd problem with mail(). I use it to send HTML formatted mail, and the message contents get scrambled.

After a few hundred characters there is a space and an exclamation mark inserted.

Has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone know how to solve it?

I've had this problem with bort PHP3 and PHP4.

what it says is to send html mail try
$headers .= "Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\n"; // Mime type
and
mail($recipient, $subject, $message, $headers);

Hi!

I think i have got a solution for this problem. As we all know anything that is delivered over the net is divided into small packets.Now the problem is that while creating the mail again out of those packets it inserts a "!" mark after each packet. It is not a programming error. I am using php with linux and mysql. I just changed my send mail configuration. I increased the max mail size and it worked fine. I hope it works for you guys too.
