Detecting https

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me how we can find out whether the current page is being sent over a secure connection? I want to guard against visitors typing in "http" instead of "https" in the URLs if they should choose to request pages manually instead of following links.

Is this your server? Assuming it is, you know and control the ports the servers run on. What I do in this same scenario is to say:

if ($SERVER_PORT != '443' )
    {
    header('Location: www.mysite.com/oblivion.php');
    exit;
    }

I believe there is an environment variable, $HTTPS, which is true when the page is being encrypted. Put <?php phpinfo(); ?> in a page, then access it securely and non-securely and see what the differences are.
