Submitting a Form and Displaying Results

I am interested in writing a script that would submit form, a search query from AltaVista for example, and then displaying the results that would normally be displayed on AltaVista's site on my page.

I am a beginner at this and need some detailed instructions/explanations.

Your response page would need to do a get post to AV (I tried this a little while ago and it worked.)

when you read the page in to a variable you then have to do replacements on the img and a href tags so that they will still work. Anyway this will get you started. You'll probably run into more questions :-)
