How can i create a Chinese mailbox?

i can use imap_createmailbox($box,"{imap.server.name:143}secondbox");
to create a new mailbox, but if the mailbox name is not an English world but a Chinese word, it fail to create the mailbox,
i also found that, i can change an English mailbox name to Chinese name, but i can no longer subscribe the Chinese name mailbox,
If the imap does not support double byte words?
how can i realize my dream of creating a Chinese mailbox by php?

How exactly do you send chinese names ? Do you write them in modified UTF-7 ?
I've read that IMAP supports Unicode characters, so in theory it's possible to do what you want. The IMAP RFC (www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2060.html) says :

" For example, here is a mailbox name which mixes English, Japanese, and Chinese text:

~peter/mail/&ZeVnLIqe-/&U,BTFw- "

But maybe the server you use does not fully support IMAP.

By the way, what does U,BTFw mean in Chinese ? ;-)

I do not know how to translate a Chinese string to UTF-7 format using PHP, I have not found functions about UFT-7 in PHP manual.

Normally, you have to use imap_utf7_encode() function. But, according to the manual, it takes only 8bit characters, not Unicode. So you have to write your own function to translate chinese characters to modified UTF-7. Maybe not an easy job... You can find some info at these URLs:
