Embedding php code in .ASP pages

I am new to PHP. Just wonder if there is a way to embed php codes in an ASP page. In other words, I want a section of the code to be interpreted by a ASP interpreter and some sections interpreted by a PHP interpreter.

The reason I am asking this is that I need to embed Phorom in one of our ASP page. For specific reasons, can not rewrite the whole page with php. But how can I tell IIS to invoked the proper php since the page does not have an php extension. We are use IIS 4.0, NT 2000.

Any advise appreciated.

You can mix ASP and PHP pages on the same site, but you can't mix ASP and PHP in the same page.

How would you even do that? Tell the ASP parser to just take half the page because you're going to send the other half over to the PHP parser and then I want you both to join up what you got in the end?? Doesn't make sense. You can't run a script through two programs...

Thanks for replying. And I was wondering about the same thing. Just thinking there might be a first cut parser out there which passes different sections to the appropriate parsers and join the returns all together.

I think I understand what you guys have said, but I have a followup question, and comment.

If you are just embedding Phorom, isn't the output you receive sent as simple html, therefore no parsing required? Honestly, I haven't looked at Phorom. I did a search on Google for Phorom but the results did not include anything that looked remotely like a php code function.

We too are trying to embed php into web pages. We've written a php cart and I'm tasked with re-writing the 'help' files. I'm trying to figure out how someone can embed our offsite php function with whatever language they may be using. The languages I've identified as possible variants include (1) ASP, (2) PHP, (3) PERl, or (4) SSI. Am I on the right track? Any suggestions as to resources I can to turn to so that we can make it easy to embed our function?
