Copy an entire site (e.g. for mirroring)

I 'm looking for a working sample of code that grabs an entire site and copies it to a local hard disk, e.g., for mirroring purposes.

Hmm, thats interesting. Assuming you are mirroring the site with permission, your best bet is to have the author FTP it to you.

Of course I have the permission!!! The FTP solution you are suggesting is obviously correct, but the problem is how to do the mirroring without involving humans (i.e., have a script that runs after midnight and does the job for you)!

I still haven't found anything close to it...
