links using %s?....

Hiya
I am still learning php and not understanding what exactly this does could some one help me?

If i was to use this link

<a href=\"%s?id=%s\">%s %s</a>

am i right in assuming that this should reference the same page it's on ie say i was on a page called page.php i then have that on the page would i be right in assuming that in the address bar of my browser i would see http://www.whateva.com/page.php?id=382 (or what ever the id happens to be?

Are you talking about a printf() or sprintf() function? - Then it's hard to talk about without the context.

Apart from that, the global variable $PHP_SELF (og $GLOBALS['PHP_SELF'] if in a function) holds the information that you need.

its with in a printf()

so its printf('<a href=\"%s?id=%s\">%s %s </a>
