not php - netscape sucks so I need help

Wazzup everybody

This is a simple HTML question - I'm only asking for help because Netsgayp can't seem to grasp tables as well as IE does....

Within Netscape, I cannot get the background function to werk inthin a < TD > tag
ex:
<td background="pointy.gif"></td>

Does anyone have a solution for this?
It werks fine in IE, but then again, everything does...

I've seen this problem. I think that the background will only show up if there is something in the table such as text, img src, etc.

there known problems with netscape, that a table with a bg image set inside another table with a bg iamge set will not show up (some kind of a rendering problem)

if it's the only table with a bg it should not be a problem.

I agree, man do I ever agree that Netscape sucks, I have to code around it everyday.

For this paticular problem, one among millions, you have to make sure something is in the table cell. I usually just insert a non-breaking space like so

There is actually an issue I have seen in a table having a background image and the TD's not having any kind of BG. The background image is tiled and restarted at the start of each new TD.

This was in NN4.07 (and I think a couple of later version 4 point releases)
