Help with File Uploads and Downloads

Hi,

I need a help with the file uploads and downloads in PHP. Im doing a project using MySQL database and PHP script. I want to know is it possible to store the word documents in MySQL. If it is, how is it stored?? How can we write the PHP script to upload the document from the clients computer to the database and How can we download the file back from the database server to the other clients computer?

What is your logic behind this? It's entirely possible, but what kind of benifit do you think you'll get out of storing the binary data in MySQL, vs just storing a path to the actual file name?

I'm just curious...people ask how to do this every single day on here.
