About Reading mails

Hi all
Iam encountering some problems while extracting message and attachments from a mail.The following are some of that

1) In uuencoded mails ,how can we know the end of a message.for example if the first attachment starts with begin 666 start.bmp
and the same string is in its body also .What is the seperator between the body and the message.
2)What is the use of content-id

The message-body is everything after the headers. The headers and the body are separated by one blank line.

If data is uuencoded, it should end with an apostrophe (denoting a line length of zero) and the following line should contain only the word "end" followed by a line ender.

If the email is MIME-encoded, it may be a "multipart" document, and the separator will be provided to you as one of the header fields. Ordinarily, however, MIME mail will be base64-encoded, not uuencoded. See the RFCs for Multimedia Internet Mail Encoding for painfully detailed explanations.

Thanks for your reply.I want to ask one more question.If the message is not encoded and the attachments are encoded,and the message body contains more than one blank line .How do i know the end of the message
