Mail() problem: "Cannot Connect"

I'm getting a "Cannot connect" error from my script. Let\'s say that my script is:

mail("[e-mail]","test","this is just a test");
</pre>

it gives me an error. What is wrong with this? I have looked through the manual, and there's no syntax problem...

Sounds like you haven't got a mail transfer agent running. What kind of system the webserver and php run on? It could also be a misconfiguration in php.ini. Check the sendmail_path in it.

If you haven't got an MTA running, I recommend qmail. It's easy to install and configure, and very secure. (http://www.qmail.org)
