parsing mp3-header

Does anyone know how to parse the mp3-file-format?? I want to parse some information like sampleRate and length from it. I've already heard from it, so it must be possible..

I got boored today so I decided to write this up 🙂 I wrote a class that will retrieve the sample rate (kbps), frequency (kHz), length (filesize and time in seconds) and some other misc stuff. To see what it can gather:

I tested under PHP4, but should work just fine under PHP3. I also think I will put in ID3 tag decoding in later versions. Tell me how it works out for you.
