HTTP Authentication

I hope there is an easy way to do this...

I have a site which allows a user to log in with a userid and password. The user can then select an option from a menu which links to another site which requires HTTP Authorization. A dialog box asks the user for a userid and password...

THIS IS THE SAME USERID/PASSWORD COMBINATION AS ENTERED FOR THE FIRST SITE!!!

Is there any way to log in directly without having to re-enter the same information (ie bypassing the HTTP Authentication dialog box)???

If you are crossing zones (ie, domains) then you will have to re-authenticate, this is a browser issue. Setting a cookie is your best bet, and to check for the existence of the cookie before sending HTTP authentication on the new site. Just dont forget that when you call setcookie(), so specify the appropriate domain setting.
