Hi everyone
I was building my site and wanted to rename some scripts from "redirect.php" to "r" without extensions.
The rationale is that in the long run, I don't want to be constrained by the file extensions (might move over to jsp one day) and just having r? seems much cleaner.
A lot of the MAJOR sites lke yahoo and altavista have these types of links (i.e. www.altavista.com/r?id=2 and www.yahoo.com?read?news=1)
I heard from someone about a "DEFAULT TYPE" parameter one could set in apache to handle the parsing of files without extensions but does not know how to get started (newbie to apache). Can anyone help me (possibly also with some TELNET examples?)
Best.
