Reading Apache Cookies

I am using the following lines in my apache config file to write cookies.

CookieTracking ON
CookieExpires 94608000

I'm trying to get PHP to read the cookie that apache creates automatically so I do not have to duplicate the effort of cookie creation. I have not been able to read the cookie at all. I have verified that the cookie exists on my hard drive and that I am calling the PHP script from the right domain name? Any ideas or examples on how to do this?

Just an after thought. phpinfo() reads the Apache cookie. I've tried...

echo $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS["Apache"];

and do not get anything.

With every cookie created, there is the name of it, what is stored inside, the expiration time, the path it can be read from, the domain it can be read from, and a secure flag. If the cookie written by apache specifies that it can not be read by the domain or directory you are looking at it from, you cant read it.

$HTTP_COOKIE is an array containing all of the cookies that can be read from wherever it is called. Run the phpinfo() again and under Apache Environment, look for HTTP_COOKIE and see what it prints out for available cookies.
