Authentication

I am having trouble using header('Location: user:[e-mail]')

When I enter the info verbatim into a browser it works fine, but when I use the location header it still throws up the authentication box. What gives? Am I missing something?

This is just a guess... but I don't think the webserver understands the protocol here. Why don't you try:

('Location: http://user:[e-mail]/');

Well I am actually pulling a file from the server without requiring the user to log in...Dunno whats wrong...

Also it seems to work fine in Nescape Navigator, but IE 5.5 It fails on....
