Date Nightmare.....

Hi there!

i have a big problem:

i am building a reservation cars system...

and my DB stores two dates: Wished_Date and Delivery_Date

and i need to know the number of days between Wished_date and Delivery_Date......

the problem will be more complex acrooss distinct months and with bisiest years...

how i do this?

if there are some bisisest years (366 dias per year)

any suggestions?

Hi José

Dates really are not a problem, as long as you first convert them to a Unix timestamp format. Then you can add, subtract or whatever, and you don't need to worry about different months or leap years. Php takes care of them for you.

Look at the manual, "Date and Time functions", for details of the various conversion routines.

PHP can surely do this like you say,
but if the dates are already in the database it makes may be "better"
to work with the dates there.

Read the MySQL manual about the date functions. You can do very clever things
with dates in MySQL.
