Incorperating CGI with PHP

I have websites with PHP extentsions and they dont seem to pick up my newspro (CGI) line

what do i do to fix this
I have tried php readfile... and it just says that the file is "Permission Denied"

This is not CGI, this is SSI (Server Side Include)
is this just a plain text file?
if so, you should be abnel to use
include("/path/filename");

That came up when i put <?php include ("'/www/sector9/cgi-bin/newspro/headlines.txt"); ?>

And you made sure that the webserver-user has access to read that txt file?

do you mean like the CHModing of the files (txts)

and yes.. they are in the right area...

yes I mean chmodding the file/directory
