Why is this not passing my session?

This is an easy one but I can't get it to work. I have a link and I want it to pass my session however, when you click on the link, it does show the session in the URL of my browser like I expect. Here's my link below:

Click <a href="memberprofile.php?<? print SID; ?>">here</a> to continue.

Are you seeing something i'm not?
