Hi, I'm trying to make a newspublisher script.

When the user doesn't fill out the form correctly, the script displays what the user typed in in textarea's. Here's the prob: When I try to display a " it comes out \". I tried using a ereg_replace(), but didn't quite get it to work, does anyone out there have a clue, I would be very greatfull!!

You could try to use stripslashes()

seems like you have problems with
the magic-quotes feature of php

this parameter is set in the php.ini
file and means, that php automatically
quotes all characters that have a
special meaning.
maybe php quotes the " to \" and you do it
another time resulting in \\"

if magic quote is set
$a=" abc\" ";
just insert db $a

and select from db and display
(no addslashes and no stripslashes)

problem is edit mode
you can this
$row[title]=ereg_replace("\"","&quot",$row[title]);

echo("<input type=text name=title value=\"$row[title]\">

ereg_replace 2nd args is seen " -.-;
it is
ereg_replace("\"","& q u o t",$row[title]);

above & q u o t
there is no space

it is like & l t or & g t
