Can anyone say whats wrong with this statement

Select * from inform where state='$state' and adid>$lo and adid<$hi

where inform is the table in the particular database
and $lo and $hi is to restrict the number of displayed results can anybody sugest if "and" can be used twice after where like this,

however this query doesnt execute

actually when i put the limit it doesnt show any output at all

Using limit is not a good idea, it is not the same as setting a restriction on the value of a column.

Maybe there really are not records that match your query?

Anyway, if a query doesn't do what you think it should do, print the query before you execute it, to see if the query is correct. Maybe the variables $lo and $hi are not set correctly?
