FastTemplates permission error

I'm loosing my mind on this simple little thing....

I get:
Warning: file("..\templates\") - Permission denied in ../FastTemplate/class.FastTemplate.php3 on line 157

Warning: Bad arguments to implode() in ../FastTemplate/class.FastTemplate.php3 on line 157
ERROR: get_template() failure: [..\templates\, ]

I know the second error directly relates to the first. I am working on a Win98 system so permissions shouldn't be a problem. The template directory is one level up from document root. I have even tried giving it the full path...same error. What am I doing wrong? Oh and I did set the Win32 switch to true in the FastTemplate class but it had no effect.

well always try to use the obsolete paths.

try it with full path, with double back slashes to escape the \ character to be parsed.

e.g.

c:\www\site\file.inc
