Executing a cgi file through PHP

Hi all,

My php file, http://www.brothersofsonak.com/membership/roster.php3 , used to work. Then all of a sudden it didn't. Everything is correct in the cgi file, roster.cgi .

This is the code I am using to execute the cgi file, to have it write out information to the browser:

echo @join (@file ("http://www.brothersofsonak.com/cgi-bin/roster.cgi?list=council"),"")
?>

Is there something wrong with that code? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Debugging steps.

1. Make sure that the cgi works. This is probably your problem. When I hit that CGI URL, I get an error 500: "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request." This is a CGI problem and has nothing to do with PHP.

2. Turn off the error-suppression (@ symbols).

3. Make sure you are able to fetch other (valid) urls. It's possible that the "fopen wrapper" that makes URLs work the same as local filenames was disabled during an upgrade.
