Replace low & capital letter

Hi,
I need use ereg_replace with a string in low & capital letters. In my case i need to replace "apple" by "<b>apple></b>" and anyway "Apple" by "<b>Apple</b>".

Can anybody lehp me, please?

Depending on the data you're using, you could simply
replace the 'pple' with 'pple>'

i think you are trying to simply include the and around the string. as i can see they are gone BOLD (this form executes HTML!)

anyway, try this:

if (eregi('[A-Z]', $thisString)) {
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;eregi_replace($thisString, "$thisString");
}

sorry.. $thisString is going to be array. so it should be:

if (eregi('[A-Z]', $thisString)) {
&nbsp:&nbsp:&nbsp:eregi_replace($thisString[0], "$thisString[0]");
}

Well,
I need the next: i have a text whitin "Apple" and i need that word in bold, but too if the word is "apple" or "ApPle" or "applE" etc...
Now i'm using:
str_replace ($txtBuscar,"b".$txtBuscar."</b>", $txtResultado);

where $txtbuscar is "apple" and $textresultado is all the text.
