How to read mysql passwords?

I know how to insert a clear-text password into mysql and have it encrypted:

INSERT INTO members (username, password) VALUES ('blah', PASSWORD('blahblah')) and so on

But I want to be able to grab the now-encrypted password and covert it back to clear text? Is there any way?

I've searched but no luck so far..

do what patrick says,
you cannot get back the password.
but you can reset it.
so why dont you do..
1. reset the password
2. email the new password to the user.

usually mysql passwords are encrypted using MD5 algorith. in order to retrieve the encrypted password, use :
example,

mysql_query(" select * from table where password='" . md5($password) . "' ");
