ok, I got the html table showing a query out of a mysql database
it is showing name and rank.
The name is a link which calls:
http://localhost/detailes.php?Name=whatever

I want to show more info about that specific name in the new page (whatever in this case). I want it show a new query on 2 tables in the database with more info about that specific name (data about that name is in the 2 database tables...

How do I do this. What should the new page be called and what must be in there?

I can't figure out what the name of the new page should be ( i am thinking detailes.php ) and what the statements should be to just show that particular name and some more info about that name out of the database.

r u having a unique id for each name in ur database?
if no, u shld have a unique id for each name bcoz two names may be same

instead of passing the name of the person. u need to pass this unique id and then query the database for this id to get detials of the person concerned

I got it to work, yes I use unique id's, but I was coding it the right way all along, there is a problem with my server I think. It won't accept any .php files in my browser, only .htm or .html so I changed to call for the link into a .htm?Name=etc and the name of the new page into .htm and it worked fine.

Now just to figure out why my Apache won't accept .php files, I set it up in the conf file....
