dba_open - need to flock?

the documentation for dba_open doesn't say much about whether or not we need to worry about flocking...

does anyone know if the dba system has it's own locking? I assume not. And, in that case, I guess the best way is to open the file with flock, and once the lock is granted, then open up the database with dba_open, correct?

it does it automatically..try not calling dbmclose()at the end of your script and you'll see it won't let u back in for a while
