form variable from a link

Basically, we have a central form that is accessed via different links. I haven't done much with this stuff, and i need to somehow capture the value of the link that was used to get to the form so that depending on where the user comes from something different gets done in the form.
I hope this makes sense, and i'm sure it probably fairly simle, but my head is not able to figure this out right now.

$HTTP_REFERER help at all?

In your link pointing to the form pass along the URL or a name:

example:

<a href="form.php?page=fromthispage">form</a>

then in your form.php

Example.

if ($page == 'fromthispage')
{
do this
}
elseif ($page == 'someotherpage)
{
do something else for another page.
}

i don't know a lot about http_referrer except it's good for grabbing from remote sites.. i think just passing the value as in the next message will work though.. thank you for the help though, i can definitely use the http_referrer in another page i was having difficulty with!!
