Scrolling News

I have news items in a MySQL database table and would like to scroll the news items vertically or horizontally and when clicked would jump to the URL that I specify.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to a javascript/DHTML script which will enable me to do that.

I have used a java applet on http://www.jenningsjohnson.co.uk but would prefer to use javascript/dhtml.

I don't want to use textboxes to show scrolling text.

Any help please?
