detecting where visitors left

Hello.
I was looking for the answer to my question before posting and decided to post it when failed to find any.

In short, I wrote a function that gets visitors information when they come to my site and stores it in database.

The problem I have is to get the information where users go(URL) when they leave my site.

The only method I'm aware of is that if they leave your site by clicking on a link in your page, to make these links save the information you want to and then forward their browser with header messages.
