Send mail with IMAP

Does anyone of you know how to send mail using IMAP functions? I have php 4 and imap_mail is not available on my machine. Please let me know.

If imap_mail isn't available on your machine, how are you going to use it? Why don't you just use the normal mail() function?

But what if I don't have mail() function available. I have is php installed on my windows ME and I have Web server and PHP on it. I am able to connect to mail server with imap_* function but imap_mail does not work. Please let me know if you know the solution.
