Upload files automatically, impossible!?

If I know the file names and paths stored in the client-side, ex:
c:\images\001.jpg
c:\images\002.jpg
c:\images\003.jpg
Could it possible to upload those files automatically only by press a submit button??
How to do that?? Thanks.

you might be able use javascript to set the file location in the page. i tried using value="/location/" in the input type file tag with html and that didn't work. i know you can copy and paste the file location into the file input box and press submit, so using javascript to set the input type text values to the default location should work (maybe). the page would load up, using javascript onload event the values of the file upload box would be entered, and all that needs to happen is that the user would click on submit. however i wasn't able to get this to work after trying for about a minute so i'm not 100% sure if it can be done.

I'm not 100% sure what you are saying, its one of two things though...

Yes, this can be done as far as I know, the details of HOW I don't know, but you'd want to make sure you had a good security system in place to stop anyone uploading files, like a PHP script that'd drop all your databases....

Everytime a user goes onto a page certain files are lifted off their machine without their consent.

I somehow doubt this is possible, think of it, a site that automatically grabs files off your harddrive without permission, ini files and other files that may contain passwords (I don't know the specifics of Gator, but its got to store the information somewhere)
Though, after all that is said, you can get a PHP script to grab someones IP, browser version, country and several other things, but to grab specific files, I doubt it.

But once we use <input type="file"...>, although the screen looks like [a text + a browse button], but I believe it only represents as ONE element in the form.
There's no way to specify a value (ex: C:\images\001.jpg) to the left text field (I mean, the one looks like a text field) with JavaScript function.

Yes. It's not difficult to multiupload files at one time.
I've done that by using <Input Type="File" Name="upfile[]"> without problems.
But I just think it's stupid if a user want to send 5 files to our server, he need to press the browse button and select the file for separate 5 times, then finally press submit to action.
Therefore, I just wonder if I already know the files that the user want to upload from their own PC, for example, are stored at
c:\images\001.jpg
c:\images\002.jpg
c:\images\003.jpg

Well...I really don't know the possibilities at this time, maybe that's the limitation for PHP or Javascript (or every language applied to HTML!?) because of the security issues...?

It's definately not possible to do this without having any visible form field (what a security nightmare that would be).

Actually, I don't think it's possible at all. I know from experience that it isn't possible to specify the value of an <input type=file> field as you would with a text field. This is probably another security concern, because if it were possible then a tiny or somehow hidden file field could be placed on a page with a form and any system file could thereby be stolen from the user.
