Flash help

Hi.
On my site, I want people to be able to listen to mp3s, however, they aren't supposed to download them. I would like to make flash-files with the mp3s in them with play-buttons and things like that.
However, I don't want to make all the flash files myself, I want to make them with PHP.
So, my question is : how do I do this? I know there's a collumn about flash, but I need to know how to put an mp3 in the flash-file, and how to control it - is this possible?

... well we had that problem some while ago ... I say problem, because we ended up making all the flash/mp3 files by hand ... (it where about 20 so that seemed quicker than looking for a php solution ...) I guess you know, that flash runs on the clientside ... so all of your customers do download the .swf and of course can keep them ... we solved that problem, by delievering only one minute of music for each title ...
I think it is very hard to find documentation on PHP/Flash programming and I think generating mp3/swf's is probably more finding out by yourself than reading a column or tutorial ...
Besides the PHP Flash Functions (described in the column you mentioned) ... there is also a PHP-Flash Library called Ming ... but I haven't tried anything serious with it yet ...
Just a few Ideas how to do it:
Build a flash-music-player, that accepts swf sound files ... that shouldn't be that hard to do, I think the real problem is converting the mp3's to swf files ... if you found a solution for that you're halfway through it (and if you are a nice guy you let me know how you did it 🙂))

What you need is Swift-MP3 which is available free from Swift-Tools http://www.swift-tools.com It is designed to do exactly what you require ie.create streaming sound Flash files from MP3 files, Flash jukeboxes. Many platforms are supported
Linux x86, Linux PPC, FreeBSD, Solaris 2.6(Sparc) and Windows (95/98/NT/2000

As far as making swf files with php goes... I have done some extensive stuff with flash and a little with swflib...

My opinion is this - it'll be a lot easier and quicker to create such files using just Flash 5.0 package.

Probably, but the thing is, I want an MP3-upload functionality, so people can upload their mp3's, but other people are not supposed to actually download them, the mp3s must be in a flash-file (they can always download the swf, but that's not the same as downloading an mp3...)
So I'll probably check out the swift package...
