Pattern matching with wildcards

Hi there,

I want to read in an html file from a url, and dump out all the contents except mailto links.

The thing about mailto links of course, is that they all have different e-mail address attached.

Is there a way that I can do this? Is there any form of wildcard option with preg_match or similar?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ofcourse there is, read this:

an example:

$a="<a href=\"mailto:bla\">asdds</a>";
echo preg_match("/<a href=['"]*mailto:[^{<]+<\/a>/",$a);}

Note: that's not a letter-V in <\/a>, that's a backslash-slash
