automatic URL rewriting

How can I supress the session ID from the location and status toolbars whenever the mouse pointer passes over a link (text or image) or a new page is loaded?
(I'm using automatic URL rewriting with PHP 4.0.3pl1).

To do things automatically without having anything submitted you have to use Javascript.
