textarea's and MySQL ---->

Why is it that mhen I enter a piece of text in a textarea, and save that in MySQL, that MySQL doesn't save the spaces and enters?
Even when I press ' enter' a hundred times in a textarea, MySQL saves the text as one string......does anyone have a solution for this?

Use nl2br($text_out_of_db) to convert newlines to breaks.
