Using a variable from an included file.

I use the same links a million places in a site, and when one changes it’s a huge hassle to remember to change each one of the million references.

Would it be possible to keep all of the link names and URLs in a text file? Then, I could just include the text file and call the variable for the link, name, whatever… that I wanted.

Yes, it is possible to do this. I do it all the time for connection strings and such.

Try just using a PHP file somewhere with the HTML code (no actual PHP unless you want it). Then you (in your PHP documents all over your site, just add a

include "masterHeader.php";

and change the include line in PHP.ini to reflect the location of your include files (masterHeader).

Very cool. Including the file worked. Now, when I change a link variable on the included file, it changes it on every page.
