Include problem

Hi,

I'm having some problems with including files within files. Perhaps it would be better if I can illustrate it. Below is the directory structure:

/includes/inc1.php
/includes/inc2.php
/includes/inc3.php
/includes/common.php
index.php

The file common.php includes all three of the inc1, inc2, inc3 files. And index.php includes common.php. When I do this, it says that it can't find the files inc1, inc2 and inc3. However, if I manually include all the 3 files in index.php, it works fine.

Anyone knows what's wrong?

Where is the index.php file? In which directory?

The index.php file is in the parent directory of the includes directory.

include like that:

in index.php:

include("includes/common.php");

in common.php:

include("includes/inc1.php");
include("includes/inc2.php");
include("includes/inc3.php");

As far as I understand this, relative pathes are alway taken from the first php file called (which is index.php) in this case.

You can include the full path in you include files. This always works for me!

ex. inlclude("localhost/...../includes/common.php");
