Hello,

I am currently wanting to learn how to code in PHP and work with MySQL. I have my own dedicated server running MySQL, PHP3/4, ChiliSoft ASP, Perl 5+ and alot of other goodies.

I have tried eBooks as far as Sam's Teach Yourself MySQL in 21 days and etc. Well these books are junk to be honest...I find that Sam's book starts out on the Select command and doesn't even teach creating tables and databases and such.

I know how to login to MySQL, I know how to create a database...but thats about as far as it goes...I have even tried phpmyadmin and I am sorta lost trying to use it.

I would like a betetr way to learn MySQL and then on to PHP so that I can begin to start making my own software for my websites that interact with MySQL.

Does anyone out there have a beter way to learn these two programs? If so please respond and let me know...and thank you in advance for your help.

    Thank you very much...it's really hard to find some good tutorials and help when people look down on you because your not as good as they are...so I thank you very very much for the info.
