Building an update-able scheduling page

I am trying to build a web page that my boss can use to update the employee schedule. I am pretty much a beginner at PHP and mySQL, and I am having trouble figuring out what to do. I have a template for the update pages, but need a little help coding it... can anyone help me find a tutorial that would be usefull?

I find that Web Monkey is a great place for beggining tutorials, and I believe they have one on PHP and MySQL.
