Session Error using PHP4

I am running the following:

Windows 2000 Professional
MySQL
PHP4
Apache

I sometimes get the following session error while navigating around a site:

Warning: open(/tmp\sess_64849484997dde54b6fce37419461264, O_RDWR) failed: m (13)

Can anyone shed some light on the above error, what doe it mean?, can it be fixed.

I have a similar problem when running Apache on W2K. I found out that for some reasons, PHP did not read the content of the php.ini file. Therefore, it is trying to access its "default" directory in writing a session file. i.e. trying to write to /tmp instead of the session path you may have specified in php.ini.

I still can't fix this problem though. Does anyone can help???

You could try running it on IIS; it should work fine.

hi,
i got the same problem when i am using
win NT
mysql
php4
but IIS4.0 on NT server.

i found the error is due to the wrong path specified in php.ini file and recitified it.

edit the
session.save_path = "c:/temp"

don't about apache, just try this is.

Hi,

I may have the solution on your problem...
You should use an @ abobe :
@session_start();

this @ disables the output for error messages.

I used to have this problem...
