Java text file searching

Hi all, hoping you can help me. I`m new to Java and for a project I have to create an applet that will search through a text file for terms and then display the corresponding data items. Intially I wish to try this by pattern matching. The text file is arranged as follows:

T Report title
A An author
A Another autor
W Author address etc..
W Author address cont...
W. Classification
T Report title
T Report title cont...
A An author
W Author address etc..
W Author address cont...
W. Classification

etc. Each of the different "sections" can be a term to search for, and some have multiple sections. Im not sure how to go about doing this. My programming is very poor and Im not sure how to go about this. Any help would be gratefully received, and very much appreciated.

Hi Maureen, yeah I got something handed in, it wasn`t a brilliant piece of coding but it worked alright. I think I have a copy of the source code around somewhere, if you want I could email it to you? Or if you have any other questions let me know.
