Crontab Telnet Linux help, anyone?

I know this isn't PHP, but I'm at a loss who to ask, I've tried IRC, no one seems to see me there.

I finally got my hoster to set it up so that I could get to shell via telnet.

Which I did, I then did crontab -e, and typed out

00 02 2 3 5 echo "Testing!" | /usr/bin/sendmail [e-mail]

Well, all I need to know is the next step!
What do I know do to save this, exit telnet, and let it send me a mail at 02:00 on Friday the 2nd of March saying Testing!

Any help much appreciated before I go mad! :-)

As soon as you exit the editor that you are using to modify your crontab (typically vi) then the system will start using the new version.

If your problem is you don't know how to exit your editor then here are a couple of things to try:

vi:
Hit the ESC key
Type :x
Hit Enter

Emacs:
Hit Crtl-x Crtl-c

Maybe its because I have to hit "a" before I can type anything in the editor, I dunno, its getting annoying though :-(

vi is powerfull, but not very userfriendly to newbies.

Check out the manpage for vi "man vi"
or lookup some more info about it on the net.

just pressing excape then typing :wq, then enter works great :-)
