couldn't agree more. i myself came to this
forum since some of the manual documentation on formatting mysql timestamps seems terse and vague to me. hopeing perhaps to see some example code or a similar question (rather than just posting, might i add), it's annoying to have to read through two extra threads before i can even get to the url, which would have been far more productive for all.
additionally, i just spent a half hour looking through the manual for this page, and couldn't find it, so there was merit to the origional question.
before anyone starts questioning the intelligence of someone that can't find something in the manual, we should ask ourselves if the manual should be harder to figure out than the things they're documenting?

i'm unsure what would make rtfm people happy. to have only really advanced questions that require thought on your part? if you consider the purpose of such a board as this to be only that, it might be suggested you begin an "advanced php topics" board.
