Transport endpoint is not connected !!!

hi all

i got this error with fopen, "Transport endpoint is not connected".

my script works just fine if I wanna upload remote file from the same virtual host Im running the php script on, however when I wanna upload a file from another virtual host on the same machine or from totaly remote server, I got this error...

Warning: fopen("http://www.someurl.com/images/photo/potd.jpg","rb") - Transport endpoint is not connected

I was looking quite a long for some answers but could not find any.. please guys help...

ehh... finally I found out why it didn't work!! (thx to www.fagts.net)

as usually its so obvious that Im ashamed 🙂

This error occured when the domain name could not be resolved, so it was something wrong with the DNS-settings on my server (/etc/hosts). I just didnt have the entry for the host I was trying to get the file from.

So remeber guys now - if you get problems with "Transport endpoint is not connected" check your DNS settings first before you gonna complain on some support forums 🙂

The url, where I found the solution, is www.faqts.com not www.faqts.net.. sorry guys.. I was just so excited i got this problem solved...

Thats not entirely it. I'm having the same problem, same error, except I'm connecting to the IP address--not using a hostname at all, and the script is connecting to the other server, and sending data (HTTP headers) as usual, its just not reciving the response from the server. I think this error message is a little too general, seeing as how it could be quite a few possible problems. =)
