php.net quick functions

I am very curious to find out how does php.net site handle that nice quick function access feature. You know, when you just type in php.net/fopen and it takes you to the right page. I tried looking into the source code but the whole thing seems to escape me. Anyone?

it redirects 404 errors (done in a .htaccess file or httpd.conf) to a script which checks the URL the user wanted then sees if the funtion the user put there exists. If it does, it sends the browser to the correct page. If it doesn't it displays all functions.
