Tool bars using javascript.

Hey
I want to create a toolbar using javascript.
When I move the mouse over each option the same should get highlighted(similar to the IE menu).
I want to write code for the click event of each item.
Is it possible ??

Well im going to take a shot at this one although it makes little sense to me.
If you are going to use javascript and then have a onclick execute a php page? That would link like any html page. But you can't have PHP run like javascript client side. You will have to reload the page on clicking on anything, whereas javascript can update without page remaking.

Also you can use PHP to write dynamic javascript, to suite your needs but i dont think that is addressing this question.

You will probably have to rewrite this question to get any serious replies.

I am creating an html editor for my project.
I am using cgi instead of php.
I have written a program which will handle the click events of a large number of buttons.
I want all these buttons in a toolbar.
Now can u help me??

If you are using cgi instead of php I suggest you try www.cgibuilder.com or www.cgi-resources.com and still if you don't get any help, UPgrade to PHP ;-)

Coming back to your question .. yes you will be able to create buttons like those in IE using javascript but those will have to be 2 different images. laod one when the mouse moves over it and load another when the mouse out. This mouse over event can be fired using javascript and then when clicked it can submit your page to wherever you want it.... More on javascript can be found at http://javascript.faqts.com

I tried a different script (Highlight Menu Effect IE) which will highlight when mouse is moved over it from the same site.

I was able to solve the problem.
I added code to the mouseover event on the column of table.
The site "dynamicdrive.com" contained the script for the same.

That site has also mentioned that the script it provides will only work in IE4+ . Thats a bummer !

How about using Flash. Using flash I designed a site's index page as windows gui interface. You click on begin button - it pops a menu - you scroll over choices, and it pops other menus. I think that this is a great concept as far as keeping site organized.

What you are trying to do in javascript is a snap in Flash 5.0.
