(off-topic) Newbie question: PHP & mySQL

hi,
Pardon my ignorance, I know how annoying it is to deal with newbies, but unfortunately today I'm the newbie. 🙂 Anyway, I have a problem in using mySQL with PHP... I got Apache running on Windows2000 with PHP4, and everything is running fine. After a lot of manual-reading I got finally got mySQL to work, also. But my problem lies in getting a datasource set up in Windows for my mySQL database. When I go to ODBC in the Admin Tools and try and add my database as a datasource, there are no options that handle mySQL databases. I have SQL Server in the list, but nothing for mySQL. Can anyone please help me out, I've been reading the docs and surfing the net for a while and simply can't find anyone having problems like mine. If you can help, I would really, really appreciate it. Even if you just tell me what I'm doing wrong and then laugh at me for being a newbie. 😉 Thanks in advance!

Not sure but I think you'll need to install MyODBC found on the www.PHP3.com check in the download section not sure if thats what you need thought

omg, myODBC... hmm, no one ever mentioned THAT before 😛 I found it, so thanks anyway for help everyone. =)

well...... i never used myODBC, for my past 2 years of experience in PHP! anyway i dont know what that is for.

all you need to do is, install mySQL, and install PHP.. and off you go! .. PHP has builtin functionality for connetion with mySQL server.
